The cuisine of Avilés combines the fruits of the Cantabrian Sea with local produce. The fish market in Avilés is one of the most important in Asturias, ensuring fish such as pixín (monkfish) or pincho hake at their optimal point. The city is famous for its chocolate and pastry, with specialties like mantecadas de Avilés or bollo de Pascua.
Strolling through the Ferrera park or walking along the estuary promenade at sunset completes the experience of a monumental, bohemian, and deeply welcoming city.
